Bio


Emerson Borakove is a Brooklyn based composer and sound artist who works in the mediums of sound, performance, sculpture, and video. Originally from Lincoln Nebraska, she moved to New York to study music at SUNY Purchase. Borakove often creates pieces that combine traditional instrumentation with experimental elements such as audience members phones, sculptures activated via transducer, and motion tracking software.

She creates music under her name and a variety of pseudonyms including "Untitled Noise Night" with her collaborator Shiloh Blue and "Small Womens" with songwriter Lex Walton. Borakove also works as an audio engineer for the Bowery Presents, Trans-Pecos, Market Hotel, and FullStack Productions.
